Multiple fire companies respond to a working structure fire along Fleming Road in Buffalo Township on Tuesday. The fire caused major damage to the home.

A house in Buffalo Township sustained significant damage after a fire broke out on Tuesday morning.

Multiple departments responded to the fire in the 500 block of Fleming Road at about 8:15 a.m., according to an Armstrong County 911 operator.

There were no injuries reported, according to authorities.

First responders encountered heavy smoke and flames and called in tanker trucks to provide a water source to battle the blaze. Firefighters on the scene said the fire likely started in a chimney or wood-burning stove.

Authorities did not respond to multiple messages seeking information about about whether the house was occupied at the time of the fire.

The incident is being investigated by a state police fire marshal.
