380 Auction & Discount Warehouse owner Jane Beacom was sitting in her home Monday afternoon when she heard a loud bang.

“One of our neighbors was taking down a shed today, so at first I thought it was that,” Beacom said. “Then I heard another loud bang, came outside and saw that one of the greenhouses was on fire.”

Emergency crews knocked down a large fire Monday afternoon at the business on Fairview Drive in Murrysville. Two of the large greenhouses on the property have extensive fire damage.

The blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. as a fully involved structure fire. The warehouse, a well-known retail landmark at 4320 Fairview Drive, sits just off Route 380 and is less than a mile from the Route 66 interchange.

The family-owned business is well known for its eclectic and expansive inventory, which includes everything from name-brand furniture and bulk groceries to seasonal garden supplies, pet feed and golf carts.

“We just had a (plant) order delivered,” Beacom said.

Beacom said no employees were injured, as the business was closed Monday.
