Arnold No. 1 Fire Chief Walter Gouza said no one was injured and there were no problems with water when battling the fire. He said former Arnold No. 2 Chief Chris O’Leath was one of the first responders on scene and noticed flames coming from the rear of the structure.

The fire spread to neighboring 1614 Fourth Ave.

The Red Cross is assisting two adults and one child who were displaced from that house which had minor fire, water and smoke damage, Gouza said.

The vacant house, 1616 Fourth Ave., is maintained by Light House Ministries, and is likely a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state police fire marshal.
