The former Best Buy store at the Village At Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer could be divided to accommodate three or four new businesses, township officials said.

Supervisor Lori Ziencik identified one of the potential tenants as America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses.

The township received a building permit application from Columbus, Ohio-based ms consultants inc. that listed $1.3 million in proposed renovations at the former Best Buy. The Ohio company applied for the permit on behalf of Zamias Services Inc., which leases and manages the Village at Pittsburgh Mills.

Officials with Zamias and ms consultants couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.

The would-be renovations include partitioning the interior of the building to accommodate multiple tenants and adding new entrances and canopies to the building’s exterior, according to the permit application.

Ziencik said she didn’t know of other businesses that might be interested in taking up space at the building.

Best Buy blamed the 2018 closure of its Frazer store on the area’s economic decline.

Ziencik said the proposed project would be economically beneficial.

“An occupied building is better than a vacant building any day,” Ziencik said.
