A former Gilpin man accused of sex crimes against a young girl has been extradited from Texas to face the charges.

Michael Henry Brucker, 31, of Montgomery, Texas was brought back from Texas early this month, according to Gilpin police.

Gilpin police Chief Chris Fabec said police began an investigation in October after receiving a tip from the state ChildLine hotline.

After receiving another tip about Brucker’s whereabouts, police contacted the sheriff’s department in Montgomery.

Felony charges filed against Brucker include unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault of a child, corruption of minors, making terroristic threats and indecent assault of a child younger than 13.

Fabec said the child was interviewed and identified Brucker as the man who assaulted her over several years.

She said that Brucker told her if she told anyone he would come after her.

Fabec said Brucker had been seen in Leechburg and Apollo before going to Texas, but the chief did not say whether Brucker was aware that police were looking for him.

Online court records do not list a trial date.
