Property owners are searching for a new tenant at the site of a former Burger King along Golden Mile Highway in Plum.

A building once occupied by Burger King in Plum has been demolished as the property owners search for a new occupant for the lot.

Located at the corner of Golden Mile Highway and New Texas Road, the building had been home to the Burger King for decades until the restaurant moved less than a mile down the road to Monroeville in 2024.

David Auel, the leasing agent for the property, said the building had become “functionally obsolete,” leading the owners to opt for its demolition.

“We’re interested in securing a new tenant and moving forward,” Auel said.

Property co-owner Dan Sciullo said he doesn’t have any intention to sell the property, but he’d be interested in leasing to a variety of businesses.

That includes the possibility of another restaurant at the site, he said.

“Our interest is doing something that’s lasting,” Sciullo said.
