Fox Chapel Garden Club hosts Gardenfest May 13

Eight local gardening organizations plus local artisans will have plants and items for sale at the Fox Chapel Garden Club’s Gardenfest on May 13 at O’Hara Community Park from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The lineup of vendors includes:

Toad Hollow Gardener — houseplants, daylilies, perennials

Men’s Garden Club — tool and knife sharpening

North American Rock Garden Society — miniature conifers, alpine plants, dwarf hardy ferns and iris

Western Pennsylvania Herb Society — unit made herbal products and plants

Penn State Master Gardeners — perennial plants

Guyasuta Garden Club — cupcakes, floral baskets, hanging baskets, houseplants, garden décor, jewelry

Country Barn Farm — bees, educational materials

Fox Chapel Garden Club —perennials, annuals, deer resistant plants, aesclepias

The Fox Chapel Garden Club has been involved in a community plant sale for more than 60 years with the proceeds dedicated to local horticultural philanthropy, according to Melissa Johnson, co-chair of Gardenfest.

Among the organizations aided by the garden club are: the Allegheny Parks Foundation, Allegheny RiverTrail Park, Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens, Second Harvest Community Thrift Store, and the St. Margaret Foundation - Garden of Hope.
