Fox Chapel Police Department welcomed about 90 people to its second annual Bicycle Rodeo, according to organizer Sgt. Craig Sorg.

The event took place May 23 at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church along Fox Chapel Road.

Families had their bicycles inspected for free by mechanics from Pro Bike+Run in Monroeville. They also did some minor repairs and checked helmets for proper fit.

Sorg said new helmets were provided for free to those who needed one courtesy of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Other activities included bicycle obstacle drills and raffles.

Fox Chapel firefighters and Foxwall EMS brought trucks and ambulances to the event for families to explore.

Police also grilled hot dogs and served free food and drinks.

The rodeo was originally scheduled for April 29, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
