Allegheny County Police detectives arrested a Frazer man after, they said, a pre-teen girl told investigators he forced her to have sexual contact with him.

Zachary Chicko, 37, of New Orchard Road was charged with felony counts of corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor along with two counts of indecent assault and a count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Chicko was being detained in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge David Sosovicka, according to court records.

Detectives wrote in a criminal complaint charging Chicko that, during a forensic interview at A Child’s Place advocacy center in Pittsburgh, the girl told investigators the assault happened in July.

Police began investigating after the girl told a friend about the assault. The friend told her parents, who eventually contacted the girl’s mother, the complaint said.

Chicko has a previous felony conviction for the 2015 fatal hit-and-run of a 24-year-old man who was riding his bicycle along Steubenville Pike in North Fayette. He was sentenced in October 2017 to three to six years in prison following a nonjury trial.

Chicko was arrested four months after Brandon Ortmann was found on the ground next to his mangled bicycle, according to authorities.

Investigators said Ortmann was struck in the head by the passenger-side mirror of the truck Chicko was driving.
