Free Thanksgiving dinners in the A-K Valley

Free Thanksgiving dinners are being offered in several communities in the Alle-Kiski Valley during the Thanksgiving holiday season. All events are on Nov. 24 unless otherwise listed. Please note that reservations are requested at some locations.

Freeport

• St. Mary Mother of God Parish and Zion United Methodist Church will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Friendship Hall at St. Mary Church, 610 High St. Dine in, takeout and delivery available. Reservations required by Nov. 18. Reservations: 724-448-9251 or stmaryfreeport.com.

Leechburg

• Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St. Takeout dinners are to be picked up at noon; dine-in dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Menu: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and pie. Reservations required by Nov. 18. Reservations: 724-845-1901 or email church@crcpc.org.

Lower Burrell

• Free takeout Thanksgiving dinners will be available from 1 to 2 p.m. in the rear parking lot at Bethel United Methodist Church, 150 Alder St. Sponsored by Compassion Network, Bethel United Methodist Church and Jones Turkey Farm. Reservations required by Nov. 18. Reservations: Text 724-448-8173 or email invrget911@aol.com with name, telephone number and number of meals requested. One meal per person please.
