Free Thanksgiving dinners in the Alle-Kiski Valley

A free Thanksgiving dinner is being offered in several communities in the Valley during the Thanksgiving holiday season. All events are on Nov. 25 unless otherwise listed. Please note that registrations are requested at some locations.

Arnold

A free community Thanksgiving dinner will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at Arnold United Methodist Church, 1801 Leishman Ave. Reservations requested. Reservations: 724-339-2377, leave your name, telephone number and how many will attend.

Brackenridge

Allegheny Valley Salvation Army Corps & Community Center, 917 Brackenridge Ave., will have a free Thanksgiving dinner from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at the center. No reservation needed. Questions: 724-224-6310, ext. 1.

Buffalo Township

Evangel Heights Church will distribute free takeout Thanksgiving meals from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 while supplies last at the church, 120 Beale Road. Menu: turkey, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and dessert, all packaged in a microwavable container. No reservations required. Free clothing will be available.

Freeport

St. Mary Mother of God Parish and Zion United Methodist Church will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Friendship Hall at St. Mary Church, 610 High St. Dine in, takeout and delivery available. Reservations required by Nov. 22. Reservations: 724-448-8013 or stmaryfreeport.com

Harmar

A free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who is suffering from a substance abuse disorder or has no where to go will be served from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Francis Church, 2599 Freeport Road. Sponsored by Addiction Recovery Ministry Pittsburgh. Reservations requested. Leechburg

Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., will host its 12th annual Thanksgiving Day dinner from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. This year will be by takeout only. Donations will be accepted. Reservations required by Nov. 22. Reservations: 724-845-1901 or church@crcpc.org.

Lower Burrell

Free takeout Thanksgiving dinners will be available from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the rear parking lot at Bethel United Methodist Church, 150 Alder St. Sponsored by Compassion Network, Bethel United Methodist Church and Jones Turkey Farm. Reservations required by Nov. 23. Reservations: call or text 724-448-8173 or email lnvrget911@aol.com with name, telephone number and number of meals requested. One meal per person please.

Tarentum

• A free Thanksgiving dinner will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St. Dine in, takeout and local delivery available, but takeout orders are recommended. Transportation will be provided to those who need it. Reservations: 724-224-9220.
