Free Thanksgiving dinners planned in the Alle-Kiski Valley

Churches and organizations are serving free Thanksgiving dinners throughout the Valley.

There are Thanksgiving dinners for the less fortunate, and those who are alone or lonely, as well as community dinners offering a time to share a meal and fellowship with your friends and neighbors.

Not all dinners are on Thanksgiving. Note the date and reservation deadlines.

Brackenridge

Allegheny Valley Salvation Army, 1 p.m. Nov. 24, 917 Brackenridge Ave., Free, no reservations required.

Buffalo Township

Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the church. Dine in, take out and delivery available. Reservations required. For take out and delivery meals, reservation deadline is today. Reservations: Zionsarver.com, 724-353-1720 or office@zionsarver.com

Freeport

St. Mary, Mother of God Parish, 608 High St., free dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in the church fellowship hall. Reservations required by Nov. 25. Reservations: 724-448-9251

Leechburg

Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Takeouts available starting at 12:30 p.m. Free, but donations will be accepted. Reservations: 724-845-1901 or email church@crcpc.org by Nov. 21.

Tarentum

Central Presbyterian Church, 305 Allegheny St., 1 to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Free. Reservations required by Nov. 25. Transportation available if requested at time of reservation. Reservations: 724-224-9220
