A man involved in a two-vehicle crash in Brackenridge on Dec. 20 has died.

Shane Conklin, 31, of Freeport died Jan. 1 in UPMC Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The car he was driving collided with a van carrying a driver and two passengers in the 700 block of Freeport Road. Conklin died from blunt force trauma, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was classified as an accident.

Brackenridge police are investigating. An officer wasn’t available for comment.

Conklin’s fiancee, Kara Rea, said Monday that he is also survived by stepson Aiden Madison, his father, Robert Conklin and two sisters, Chelsea Conklin (Merle) of Pittsburgh and Breauna Crawford of Tarentum.

“He was a great man,” Rea said.

Conklin was a truck driver for Folino Construction.
