Frey, Hollibaugh, Wiegand win West Deer supervisor seats
An incumbent and two newcomers won four-year supervisor seats in West Deer.
John Hollibaugh and Jo Resciniti were on the ballot for a seat representing District 3, and Josh Wiegand and David Harrison were on the ballot for a seat representing District 4.
According to complete but unofficial results from the Allegheny County Elections Department, Hollibaugh, 55, a Republican, had 713 votes, or 60.58%; Resciniti, 43, a Democrat, garnered 452 votes, or 38.4%.
Hollibaugh previously told the Trib that, if elected, he plans to hold taxes steady and provide transparency between the township and its residents.
He and Resciniti were seeking elected office for the first time.
Wiegand, 42, a Democrat, had 752 votes, or 59.64%, to beat incumbent Republican David Harrison, 62. Harrison had 509 votes, or 40.36%.
Wiegand is the chief of West Deer Volunteer Fire Company No. 3. He works as a public safety consultant and grant writer, owns Wiegand Consulting and serves as an emergency medical technician.
Incumbent Republican Vernon Frey, who was unopposed for a four-year seat in District 1, captured 694 votes, or 91.56%. There were 64 write-ins for that seat.
