Apollo: Trick-or-treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26. A parade will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28. Lineup will be on 11th Street, and the parade will proceed to Apollo Plaza. There will be a costume contest, food trucks and fun.

Washington Township: A community trunk-or-treat for township children 12 and younger will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at Washington Township Volunteer Firehall, 4078 Route 66. Free drinks and snacks. Vehicles welcome to distribute treats. Cash prizes will be awarded for costumes and decorated trunks. Sponsored by the fire company community outreach committee. • Halloween Hustle 5K Costume Run/Walk, 11:30 a.m. Oct. 27 at Kiski Area High School. Virtual option available. There will be a trick-or-treat dash for children ages 2 to 10, prizes, goodie bags, crafters and vendors and food trucks. Cost: $35, includes T-shirt if registered by Oct. 10. A fall festival with food, vendors and crafters will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the high school Gym B. Details: tinyurl.com/ywtmewe7.
Avonmore
• Avonmore Volunteer Fire Department Halloween Festival, Oct. 26 on Cambria Avenue. Parade lineup will be at 4 p.m. and the parade will start at 4:30 p.m. There will be a trunk-or-treat, refreshments, games and a pumpkin carving contest.
• The Rinebolt Hell Hallow Haunted Walk will be from 8 p.m. to midnight Oct. 25 and 26 starting at the Avonmore canoe launch on First Street. Take a guided tour around the lake and through the woods. Cost: $10. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds benefit the Avonmore Community Association for the Rinebolt Grove Restoration Project.
Buffalo Township
• Fall Fun and Flannel Harvest Fest, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at Evangel Heights Church, 120 Beale Road.
Fawn
• Trunk-or-treat, 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at Center Church, 1575 Donnellville Road.
Harrison
• Pumpkin painting workshop for adults, 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Oct. 28 at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd. All supplies included. Reservations required. Reservations: alleghenyvalleylibrary.org.
• Campfire Ghost Stories, 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Yakaon Shelter in Harrison Hills Park. Free. Bring a chair or blanket. Wear a costume for a chance to win a prize. Sponsored by the Allegheny Parks Department.
Leechburg
• The Leechburg Business Pumpkin Trail will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26. Cards are available at Leechburg Public Library on Market Street. Cards will be limited to one per family or group.
Lower Burrell
• Community trunk-or-treat, 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Redemption Church, 232 Hillcrest Drive. Costumes encouraged.
• Community trunk-or-treat, 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at The River Church, 273 Chester Drive, Lower Burrell. Vehicle decorating will begin at 3 p.m. and treat distribution will begin at 4:30 p.m. There will be games, crafts and snacks. Decorated trunks welcome. Bring enough treats for 200-300 children. Oakmont
• Oakmont Carnegie Library, 700 Allegheny River Blvd., will have a trick-or-treat and story time for children ages 3 to 5 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 30 at the library. Costumes welcome. Details: 412-828-9532.
• Fall Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26 on Allegheny River Boulevard, rain or shine. There will be a DJ, food, vendors, basket auction, 50-50, costume contest, a pet costume contest, pie-eating contest and games. A parade will begin at 11 a.m. with lineup at 10:45 a.m. on Isabella Street behind the KwikFill. Trick-or-treating at businesses will be after the parade until 12:30 p.m.
Springdale
• Springdale Open Bible Church, 401 Colfax St., will hand out goody bags from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 as part of its Sweet Outreach Program.
Tarentum
• Boo Festival, 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 26, at Riverview Memorial Park, First Avenue. There will be a sidewalk chalk contest, balloon artist, food, crafters, hayrides, games and an obstacle course.
• Trunk-or-treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Eagles parking lot, 204 Wood St. Sponsored by the Eagles.
Vandergrift
• Children’s movie night at the Casino Theatre, 2 p.m. Oct. 27. Suitable for children 8 and younger and an accompanying adult. The films will be “Room on the Broom” and “Smeds and Smoos Movie.” Child admission: $5, includes drink and small popcorn. Adult admission is free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. West Leechburg
• Kiski Area Cavaliers Baseball Boosters will sponsor a Halloween bingo at 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at West Leechburg Fireman’s Recreation Hall, 1116 Gosser St. Doors open at 4 p.m. BYOB Must be 21.
