Some Harmar residents will have a new polling site beginning in November.

Residents of District 3, who previously voted at the old public works garage along Russellton Road, will now cast their ballots at Pittsburgh’s Syria Shriners center.

“In August, the township finalized the sale of 841 Russellton Road,” Manager Jen Steiner said.

The property was the voting site for residents in the 3rd District, which includes the Harmar Heights, Gulf Lab Road and Crone Hollow Road portions of the township.

The Allegheny County elections department was notified of the sale and ordered future voting to be at the Shriners venue, 1877 Shriners Way.

“Voters are discouraged from going to 841 Russellton Road as it is private property now,” Steiner said.

Residents who live in Districts 1 and 2 will continue to vote at the municipal building, 701 Freeport Road.

The General Election is Nov. 8. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The last day to register to vote is Oct. 24.
