Kaley Bastine, 7, raised more than $3,300 for police dogs in the Alle-Kiski Valley during a candy fundraiser Saturday night at Bird Dogs Sports Bar & Grill in Harrison.

Elementary-schooler Kaley Bastine is celebrating her latest successful event to raise money for police dogs in the Alle-Kiski Valley.

On Saturday night, the Harrison girl hosted a candy fundraiser at Bird Dogs Sports Bar & Grill in Harrison and raised more than $3,300, according to her mom, Jamie Bastine. The event featured live music and raffles.

“It was amazing,” Bastine said. “It was honestly one of the best nights that Kaley had. We’re getting so many new people.”

Bastine said officers from police departments all around the Alle-Kiski Valley attended Saturday night.

“It was busy from beginning to end,” Bastine said. “There were no parking spots at all.”

The money will go toward New Kensington police Officer Joe Martino and his police dog, Deuce. The dog was donated to the police department by the Officer Brian Shaw Foundation. Shaw was killed while on duty in November 2017.

In late September, the 7-year-old girl raised nearly $3,000 for Deuce by holding a cupcake stand at Bird Dogs.

Bastine said Kaley raised nearly $20,000 for the Harrison Township Police Department over the last year before turning her efforts to New Kensington.

Some of her fundraisers included a lemonade stand and a cookie stand.

In June, the Walmart Foundation gave Kaley a check for $7,500 to benefit Harrison police.

Bastine said Kaley is already brainstorming for her next fundraiser.
