Harrison Township officials are pursuing more than $3.2 million in grant money for proposed sewer projects.
The commissioners voted to approve grant applications for six different projects through the Commonwealth Financing Authority last week.
“They are all state LSA (Local Share Account) grants,” Township Manager Amy Rockwell said. “There is no township match on any of these grants.”
The grant applications include:
• Ivanhoe Street/Caroline Street sanitary sewer upgrade. The project involves replacing 1,451 linear feet of sewer line. The township is seeking almost $990,000 to get the work done.
• Sixth Street and Cambridge Street sanitary sewer repair. A total of close to $800,000 is what the township is seeking to re-line the sanitary sewer lines on both streets.
• Townshipwide sanitary sewer inspection program for which Harrison officials are asking almost $625,000 to finance.
• Olive Avenue storm sewer upgrades at a cost of a little more than $350,000.
• Neely Street/Caroline Avenue stormwater sewer rehabilitation. The township wants to repair/replace lines in and repave a 770-foot long by a 12-foot wide alley. Officials are hoping to secure a $277,000 grant for the project.
• North Meadow Street sanitary sewer upgrade. The project calls for installing 200 linear feet of sanitary sewer line and installing three manholes. The expected cost of the work is close to $180,000.
