Harrison police are looking for a woman who will say “I did!” when asked if she lost her diamond engagement ring.

Township police have been holding the ring since Feb. 26, police Chief Mike Klein said Monday.

Klein said a man found the ring in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Freeport Road, near the drive through, and brought it in to police.

Klein did not want to guess as to the ring’s size or value, but said it looks like it would be an expensive ring.

A full description of the ring is not being released, in hopes that its rightful owner will be able to describe it. Klein said the ring has some unique characteristics.

It’s not known how long the ring was in the parking lot. Klein said it does not appear to be damaged.

How long police will hold onto the ring in its lost and found is undetermined, Klein said. “We don’t want to do anything at this point,” he said.

If not claimed, the worst-case scenario would be that the ring gets put into the state’s unclaimed property at the end of the year, he said.

Those who think the ring may be theirs can call Harrison police at 724-224-3355.
