Another landslide has taken out parts of Oak Manor Drive in Harrison between Cherrybark Drive and Karns Road.

Randy Martinka, superintendent of public works, spotted the subsidence about 2:30 p.m. Monday. He notified PennDOT, which maintains the road.

“Half of the downhill lane literally dropped about 12 to 18 inches and slid under the guardrail,” Martinka said. “So that whole lane is going over the hill in pieces.”

According to Martinka, PennDOT has placed barricades and temporary stop signs at a section of the road that gave way years ago, rather than fixing it. The new landslide happened below the previous one, closer to Karns Road.

Another section closer to Cherrybark Drive appears to be next to crumble, he added.

“All the rain is not helping the situation,” Martinka said.

He noted Oak Manor Drive is a low-traffic road often used as a way to avoid red lights.

PennDOT did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
