One person was hospitalized after a crash Friday evening in Fawn.

Allegheny County dispatch said officers responded to the 2600 block of Bull Creek Road shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Police Chief Timothy Mayberry said the driver of a Nissan Frontier truck traveling toward Bon Way Auto Body failed to navigate a bend and struck an SUV headed the other way.

The driver, who was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, told police he swerved into an embankment causing him to lose control.

The chief said he believes the truck driver was driving too fast for the bend.

No other injures were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Emergency responders cleared the scene around 6:20 p.m.
