Help available for those still without power

The following events are planned to help residents with the power outages:

Buffalo Township

• Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, 565 Sarver Road, will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. today for food, water, ice and charging cell phones.


Freeport

• Freeport Fire-EMS will offer charging and light refreshments all day at the station, 400 Market St.


Harrison

• Citizens Hose Company partnered with the American Red Cross, will provide residents with food, shelter and cooling from noon to 9 p.m. today at the station, 965 Burtner Road.


Kiski Township

• Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department open today for charging devices. A shower is available. Bring your own towels and soap.

• Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church, 1668 Route 56, will be open until 6 p.m. today. Device charging will be available. A free meal of chicken soup, chili, ham barbecue and chips will be available. For takeout soup orders, please bring your own container. The church will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Coffee and device charging will be available. Hot dogs, sauerkraut, macaroni salad, pepperoni rolls and cookies will be available from noon to 6 p.m. Dine in or takeout.


Lower Burrell

• City Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for WiFi or charging devices.


New Kensington/Allegheny Township

• First Energy Customers impacted by the power outages can receive free water and ice today at Giant Eagle on Tarentum Bridge Road and in Towne Center.


Parks Township

• Parks Township Volunteer Firehall, 1119 Dalmatian Drive, will open at 4 p.m. today for meals while supplies last and device charging. Bring your cord. Air conditioning will be on.


Plum

• Plum Community Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today with power strips available for device charging and crafts for children.

• Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department, 415 Old Abers Creek Road, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today for charging electronics, access to WiFi and a place to keep cool and work.


South Buffalo

• A free spaghetti dinner will be served from noon to 7 p.m. today at South Buffalo Twp Fire Hall. 695 Freeport Road. Dine in and takeout. Sponsored by Dynamic Community Foundation, NextHome Dynamic Realty, and South Buffalo and Freeport fire departments. Freeport Fire-EMS will offer local delivery. Delivery orders: 724-295-2928. Dessert donations are welcome all day.
