Highlands reschedules June school board meeting
Highlands School Board has changed the date of its June voting meeting.
It will be held June 25 instead of June 24. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the audion at Highlands High School in Harrison.
The board is expected to vote to adopt a proposed $46.2 million budget for next school year. As proposed, the budget includes a 3.3% property tax increase, the most allowed by the state without a referendum or special exceptions.
The board’s agenda meeting remains scheduled for June 17.
Both meetings are a week later in June because the proposed final budget must be available for public inspection for 30 days before the school board can vote on it.
The budget is available for public inspection at the district’s administrative center, located at the back of the high school. Information is also available on the district’s website.
