The Highlands School Board scheduled a second special meeting in as many weeks.

The board will meet virtually at 7 p.m. Monday to elect board officers. Meetings are being held virtually because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Residents will be able to participate in the meeting through a Zoom livestream video accessed through the district’s online meeting agenda and a telephone conference line, 724-226-2400, ext. 4522.

The school board has been without a president since Misty Chybrzynski, the former president and a Region 2 representative, resigned in March.

The board appointed Nicole Kocon to replace Chybrzynski during a special meeting Tuesday, but did not name any new officers at that time.

One other candidate, Debra Lehew, the district’s former special education director, applied and was considered for the board seat.
