A Highlands High School student who started an effort to collect toys for needy children at Christmas is undertaking a similar project for Easter.
Marissa Callender, a senior, is seeking donations for “Easter Holiday 365” to make the holiday brighter for young children in need within the Highlands community.
Callender had started her Christmas “Holiday 365” in 2017, and continued it in 2018.
For Easter, she’s accepting donations of new toy cars, dolls, stuffed animals, Legos, action figures, coloring books, notebooks, crayons, markers, colored pencils, art kits, spring clothes, plastic Easter eggs, Easter baskets, Easter grass, candy and basket stuffers.
Donations can be dropped off weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school office in Harrison until Wednesday, April 17.
Easter is on Sunday, April 21.
