The Highlands School District administration offices at Highlands High School in Harrison on May 9, 2019.

The special education director at Highlands School District is resigning.

Debra Lehew’s resignation was among a number of personnel actions the school board approved Monday.

Lehew’s resignation is effective June 30. The board approved an agreement along with accepting Lehew’s resignation; the agreement was not immediately released.

Lehew could not be reached for comment. She did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

In other personnel moves:

The board voted to fire Robin Mallon, a paraprofessional at Highlands Elementary School, retroactive to April 25. No reason for her termination was given. Mallon had worked for the district for less than three weeks. She had started April 8 and was being paid $12.98 per hour. The board approved the retirement of Carol Bonislawski, a cafeteria worker at Highlands Middle school, effective June 30. The board rescinded the resignation of Darlene Smith, a paraprofessional at Highlands Middle School, that was to have been effective June 7.
