Two people were airlifted to hospitals Saturday after a motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck in Washington Township, according to police.

The pickup truck was headed south on Route 66 at 1:30 p.m. when a helmet fell off a motorcycle traveling in front of him near Crestview Drive, police said. The pickup truck driver slowed down and was rear-ended by another motorcycle just north of the intersection with Route 366.

Two people riding on that motorcycle were hurt, police said. One was taken to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville and the other was transported to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Police did not identify the injured pair or the pickup truck driver, who had two passengers. There were no other reports of injuries.
