Jeannette police have an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman of about $2,000 early Monday.

Dezmin Tre Lamar Edmonds, whose last known address was in New Kensington, is charged with robbery through inflicting serious bodily injury, simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property .

Police Cpl. John Ryan reported that, just after midnight Monday, police were dispatched to the 700 block of St. Clair Avenue for a report of an assault. Ryan said he found the woman bleeding from injuries to her nose and mouth.

The wpman told police that Edmonds was visiting a woman in another nearby apartment.

“The victim stated there was a knock at her door and, when she opened the door, (Edmonds) was standing there. The victim said (Edmonds) started punching her in the face and head with a closed fist … and then started dragging her around the living room by her hair,” Ryan wrote.

Ryan said the woman told police that Edmonds went into her purse, took $2,000 and fled the area.

Anyone with information on Edmonds’ location is asked to call police at 724-527-4013 or 911. Information can be submitted online at westmoreland.crimewatchpa.com
