The Brackenridge road improvement program includes a short list this year but targets some of the most-needed repairs in the borough, according to council.

Members voted to include two roads for summer paving — the upper half of Morgan Street and the lower part of Prospect Street.

“Council also plans some significant repairs to alleys throughout the borough,” Mayor Lindsay Fraser said.

The final paving budget will be determined as bids come in and project scopes are finalized, Fraser said.

The upgrades will follow work completed last fall that focused on First Avenue, Union Avenue and Prospect Street. In September, crews paved First Avenue from the pump house to Mile Lock Lane and a portion of Union Avenue from Morgan Street to Emerson Drive, near the borough’s water plant.

Prospect Street, from Freeport Road to Ninth Avenue, was also done.

Council considered doing the lower half of Prospect last year but it wasn’t in the budget, they said.
