A 19-year-old man died in a crash in North Apollo late Friday night.

The Armstrong County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Jace Albert Hoe III, of Kiski Township.

The crash, at Pegtown Avenue and River Road, was reported shortly before 10 p.m., an Armstrong County 911 dispatcher said.

Hoe was driving a Subaru sedan, the coroner said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11 p.m.

The cause and manner of his death were pending an autopsy and further investigation.

A sergeant with Kiski Township police, which covers North Apollo, refused to release any information about the crash Saturday afternoon, other than to say it was an ongoing investigation and that they had no comment.

A funeral home for Hoe had not been identified.
