Kiski Township police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man involved in a chase Friday.

According to police, the unidentified man was driving an older, white Mitsubishi Outlander when he nearly hit a marked Kiski Township police vehicle at an intersection on Garvers Ferry Road. The incident happened around 8:25 a.m.

Police attempted a traffic stop in Parks Township, but the man fled.

A chase ensued through Parks Township with officers from other departments assisting.

Police said officers ended the pursuit for safety reasons after the man drove off the road and across a creek.

Before the chase was broken off, police said they determined that the license plate on the SUV had been stolen out of Westmoreland County.

Police learned the man was at a local gas station before the chase.

Images of him and his vehicle were captured there.

Anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact the Kiski Township Police Department at 724-478-3357 or by email at policedept@kiskitownship.gov.
