Kitchen fire causes smoke damage at former Giuliani's Market in Arnold

Firefighters from Arnold Stations 1 and 2, New Kensington’s 1 and 2 and Lower Burrell fire departments responded to a kitchen fire at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1700 Horne Boulevard in Arnold. No one was hurt.

There was heavy smoke damage Saturday afternoon after a kitchen fire in an apartment in the former Giuliani’s Market in Arnold.

Arnold No. 1 Fire Chief Walter Gouza said it was an accidental grease fire that broke out at about 4:30 p.m. and was put out in about 15 minutes. But firefighters were at the scene until about 6 p.m. dealing with smoke damage to the building at 1700 Horne Boulevard.

No one was hurt.

While at the scene, Gouza said he couldn’t provide the name of the tenant or the building owner.

Firefighters from Arnold Nos. 1 and 2, New Kensington Nos. 1 and 2 and Lower Burrell responded, Gouza said.
