A landslide has restricted traffic along a section of Markle Road in Allegheny Township.

PennDOT announced Thursday that traffic on Markle Road, between Park Road and Pine Run Road, will be restricted to a single lane controlled by stop signs.

PennDOT spokeswoman Valerie Petersen said officials have been monitoring the landslide “for quite some time.”

Petersen said the road will remain restricted until it can be fixed. She didn’t have a time estimate for that as of Thursday.

She said there are currently more than 250 documented slides in the district, which includes Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
