Traffic along Hite Road in Springdale and Harmar townships will be reduced to a single lane in each direction beginning at a 7 a.m. Wednesday as crews start a bridge repair project, PennDOT said.

Crews will do demolition work, deck replacement and road reconstruction through late August on one side of the bridge that runs over Route 28. Traffic will then be shifted onto the opposite side of bridge through mid-November while the project is completed.

The work is being done by Swank Construction as part of a two-bridge project totaling nearly $7 million.

The other project is on Butler-Logan Road in Frazer. Work there is expected to continue through the end of September.
