Tarentum’s newest electronic billboard was set into place Tuesday.

Set atop a 70-foot pole, the two-sided display will be visible from the Tarentum Bridge. It is the third on the Tarentum end of the bridge, going up about a year after a similar sign on the other side of the bridge.

The latest sign is on the property of Weleski Transfer on West Fourth Avenue. It is not yet activated. Owner Gary Weleski previously said the billboard will feature local and national businesses along with news and information from local charitable and community groups. It joins another electronic sign already in place on the west side of the bridge.

A sign on the opposite side of the bridge, erected by Oliver Outdoor, an outdoor billboard company, was put up last year after a four-year legal battle with the borough, which opposed its installation but, ultimately, lost its case in Commonwealth Court.
