Lower Burrell Council OK’s vehicle sales, purchase

Lower Burrell Council has approved the sale of three used vehicles and the purchase of a new one.

Two of the vehicles are police vehicles that brought in a total of $15,100.

Both are Ford Explorer Police Interceptor models, 2017 and 2020.

The winning bid of the 2020 Interceptor, submitted by Chicago Motors Inc., was $9,200, while the winning bid of $5,900 for the 2017 Interceptor was submitted by Don Finke.

The third vehicle put up for sale by the city was a 2008 Nissan Armada LE SUV from the public works department. That was sold to Gregory Mellish who bid $625.

All three vehicles were advertised for sale through the Municibid online auction platform.

Council voted to purchase a new 2026 Ford Explorer police vehicle from Jim Shorkey Ford at a cost of $58,535.

That purchase will not take effect until the 2026 city budget is passed.
