A Lower Burrell man accused of robbing a woman last month while on a drug-fueled, naked rampage is headed to Westmoreland County Court.

Robert E. Brown, 48, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on numerous charges, including robbery, before District Judge Cheryl J. Peck Yakopec in Allegheny Township on Tuesday. He remains free on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

A phone message left for Brown’s attorney wasn’t returned Wednesday.

Brown is accused of assaulting the woman and stealing her sweatshirt on March 13 along Leechburg Road.

Police said the two didn’t know each other.

Following the reported assault, police tracked Brown to a vacant house along Leechburg Road. He was arrested there and handcuffed without incident, police said. Police say he broke into the house and was wearing the sweatshirt he ripped from the woman earlier.

Police said Brown told them he had been smoking “glass” and using PCP, methamphetamine and marijuana.

He was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison to be evaluated.

While there, he is accused of striking a police officer in the face, partially knocking off the officer’s glasses.

In addition to robbery, Brown faces charges of aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, making terroristic threats, simple assault, indecent exposure, criminal mischief, open lewdness and public drunkenness.
