Man dies after being shot on residential street in Arnold
Police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday night on a residential street in Arnold, officials said.
Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers received a report of a shooting about 6:30 p.m. in an alley between Taylor and Woodmont avenues, said Detective John Clark of the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.
Officials found a wounded man who died shortly after, Clark said. He did not elaborate on how the man was found, other than that he appeared to have been shot.
The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
No suspects had been identified as of Saturday evening.
The District Attorney’s Office is investigating alongside Arnold police.
Arnold police could not immediately be reached.
At least three shootings have happened in the area in the past month.
Police also are investigating a June 16 shooting in which a man was shot in the hip during a suspected drug deal gone bad on Woodbine Alley near Victoria Avenue.
Officials said they weren’t sure if that incident had ties to other shootings in the 1600 block of Woodbine Alley in May and in the 500 block of Fourth Avenue at Fifth Streetin New Kensington earlier this month.
