A Pittsburgh man was sentenced Thursday to serve up to 30 years in prison from the repeated rape of a 7-year-old girl who he claimed initiated the sex acts.

Jeremy Alan Miller, 29, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other offenses in connection with the sexual assaults against a Lower Burrell girl last year.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio imposed the terms of a negotiated plea bargain in which Miller was sentenced to serve 15-to-30 years in prison and an additional 10 years on probation. Prosecutors said the victim and her family approved of the deal.

According to court records, the young girl first disclosed the sexual activity and identified Miller as her attacker to a Lower Burrell police officer. She said Miller forced her to watch pornographic videos, touched her improperly and had forced her to have sexual activity.

Miller, police said, initially refuted the allegations but during a later interrogation claimed the young girl on more than one occasion initiated sexual contact with him.
