A man was injured Monday afternoon in a two-car wreck in East Deer, police said.

East Deer police Chief John Manchini said a black Impala followed by another car crossed the New Kensington Bridge into East Deer at about 1 p.m. Monday.

For an unknown reason, the Impala’s driver stopped suddenly and the second car smashed into it. The Impala’s driver left the scene and continued down Freeport Road. Police have not located the driver.

The other driver, identified as Donald Ciesilka, no address available, was taken to Forbes Hospital. A condition wasn’t available.

The Impala was later found at the Springdale park-and-ride lot, Manchini said. It was backed into a parking spot so the damage wasn’t visible. The vehicle was reported stolen by New Kensington police.
