A Tarentum man who police said fired four gunshots at two people earlier this month was sent to the Westmoreland County Prison on Wednesday without bond pending a preliminary hearing.

Sean Marcus Talley, 21, is accused of attempted homicide and related charges. He has has various addresses in the Alle-Kiski Valley, including the 300 block of West 10th Avenue in Tarentum, and in East Pittsburgh.

Talley was formally charged during an internet arraignment from the jail. New Kensington District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. held Talley without bond.

Pallone said there were no bond conditions that would guarantee Talley would attend a preliminary hearing. Pallone said Talley is a danger to the community.

New Kensington police said that just after 10 a.m. Jan. 10, Talley had a verbal dispute with a woman at the Valero’s gas station at Seventh Street and Constitution Boulevard.

When she left, he followed. Police said at Walnut Street and Kenneth Avenue, Talley got out of his vehicle and fired four shots at the woman’s moving vehicle.

According to his arrest papers, New Kensington police found four empty bullet shells on the ground in the 1000 block of Kenneth Avenue. Police also found one spent bullet that hit the back of the passenger seat in the woman’s vehicle.

Police said they have surveillance from Valero’s and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Talley firing a handgun.

In addition to attempted homicide, Talley is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and two gun charges.

Police say he is a felon who isn’t allowed to have a firearm.

Facing Arnold charge, too

Also on Wednesday, Talley was arraigned on a simple assault charge filed by Arnold police. He is accused of spitting into the face of a clerk at the Arnold Stop N Go on Oct. 19. Police obtained video from the store.

Pallone ordered Talley held on a $40,000 bond in that case.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Feb. 13 in New Kensington.
