Harmar police are investigating after the Marathon gas station along Freeport Road was robbed late Tuesday.

Officers were called about 10:30 p.m. after a suspect approached the clerk, brandished a knife and demanded money from the register. No one was injured, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, but no other details were available. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The station/convenience store is at 2601 Freeport Road, near the intersection with Route 910.

Police said the suspect fled on foot and ran behind the nearby Taco Bell and Valley Motel, but ultimately got away.

Harmar police were assisted by Allegheny Valley Regional officers, along with their police dog.

The investigation is ongoing.
