Medical examiner releases identity of pedestrian hit, killed on Route 286 in Plum

Authorities have released the identity of a man who died after being hit by a vehicle along Route 286 in Plum last Monday night.

Nicholas Edward Witucki, 36, of Pittsburgh was struck shortly after 11 p.m. June 6 while walking along Golden Mile Highway in the borough’s Holiday Park section.

First responders transported Witucki to the hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:33 a.m. June 7, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. Homicide detectives and collision reconstruction officers are investigating.

Allegheny County police are asking that anyone with information about the crash call the police tip line at 833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
