Vehicles traveling slide-damaged Milltown Road in Plum pass through a temporary stop sign July 26. On Thursday, PennDOT announced the reopening of the stretch between Shearer and Barnes roads.

PennDOT announced the reopening of a portion of Milltown Road (Route 2084) on Thursday in Plum.

The section between Shearer and Barnes roads was closed to traffic July 31 to allow crews to conduct slide remediation.

The closure originally was expected to last 55 days while workers from A. Liberoni repaired three slides within a roughly one-mile stretch of Milltown Road, Rich Schwartz, a project manager with the company, said in July.

Other work on the stretch of road included wall installation and paving.
