A Freeport council meeting scheduled for Monday night was canceled due to lack of a quorum, with at least one member on vacation, another at work, another in quarantine due to covid and a recently elected member resigning.

The meeting was scheduled for 7 p.m.

Items on the agenda included the 2022 budget and possible purchase of a new fire truck for its volunteer fire department.

Borough officials said the meeting has been rescheduled for Dec. 20.

Council President Clint Warnick, reached Monday afternoon in Florida, said all items on Monday night’s agenda will be addressed later this month.

He and borough administrators confirmed the member who stepped down was Mary Bowlin, president of the Freeport Renaissance Association.
