Police say gunfire ends in vehicle crash in Penn Hills
Penn Hills police said gunfire resulted in a vehicle crashing into a home Wednesday on Crab Hollow Road, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m., police said.
Surveillance video captured the sound of several shots being fired.
Resident Amilio Herd told WTAE that his family heard the gunfire and found a man shot several times. The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Herd said his car was also hit by gunshots.
Police said the vehicle involved in the wreck was stolen from the city of Pittsburgh.
Police are investigating.
Ambulance crashes in Lawrenceville
An ambulance and another vehicle collided late Wednesday in the Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Police were called just after 11 p.m. Wednesday to the 4400 block of Penn Avenue, near UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
There were no reports of injuries.
Pittsburgh police are investigating.
Pittsburgh police seek woman missing since New Year’s Eve
A woman last seen Downtown on New Year’s Eve has been located, according to Pittsburgh police.
Amy Shanholtz, 43, has red hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a red hat, black jacket, black pants and boots.
Police are searching for a missing 43-year-old.

She has not been answering any calls, texts, or social media.

At the time, police said she hadn’t answered calls or texts, and has not posted on social media.

East Deer road to close through April
A busy East Deer road is scheduled to close for up to four months.
Crawford Run Road between Duffer Lane and Clarks Pike Road will be shut down at 9 a.m. Jan. 15, according to the Allegheny County Department of Public Works.
The project cost is about $797,800 and will be completed by Plum-based Pugliano Construction Co.
Work will include construction of a retaining wall, paving and installation of guide rails.
Traffic will be detoured along Butler Logan, Russelton, Baileys Run and Freeport roads. Residents will have access to their homes at all times.
Tractor fire contained on Pitt-Greensburg campus
There were no injuries reported in a fire early Thursday morning at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers said a tractor caught fire just before 1 a.m. The flames were under control by about 1:20 a.m.
“It was a little fire that caused a lot of smoke,” said Director of Facilities and Operations Joe Bleehash. “It was contained to that piece of equipment. We had adequate spacing, and nothing else was impacted.”
There was no one on site at the time the fire broke out, Bleehash said, adding that the last staff member left the facility at about 11 p.m.
A cause is not yet available.
