Two people were hurt when a motorcycle the were riding crashed Monday in Harrison, authorities said.

They were not identified, but were in stable condition as they were taken by ambulance to a hospital, said Harrison Hills fire Chief Jules Beer.

Township police wouldn’t release information.

Firefighters were chopping a tree that had fallen along Saxonburg Road when the pair crashed about 200 feet away by the Esquire Drive intersection, Beer said.

Beer said crews were dispatched for the fallen tree at 4:23 p.m. and the wreck occurred at 4:47 p.m.

“They were not close (to the tree), the chief said. “I really can’t tell you any good explanation for why they wrecked.”
