Natrona Heights man hurt in Salem crash
A Natrona Heights man has been identified by state police as the driver of a car that overturned Thursday on Route 66 and hit a tractor-trailer at the entrance to Sunoco Logistics Partners in Salem Township.
Noah E. Bianco, 19, suffered what state police said was a serious injury in the crash that occurred at 3:30 p.m. when his northbound Pontiac Grand Prix went off the roadway, up an embankment, went airborne and rolled onto its side as it attempted to avoid a tractor-trailer leaving the Sunoco Logistics terminal. The truck was starting to traveling southbound.
Bianco’s came to a stop as it hit the rear wheel area of the trailer, police said.
Police said Bianco was flown by a medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Ahkuma Lbert, 37, of Salineville, Ohio, was not injured in the crash, which occurred north of Delmont, police said.
Police said they were assisted by firefighters from Slickville, Forbes Road, White Valley, Export, Delmont and Washington Township, as well as Washington Township police and Mutual Aid Ambulance Service.
