A 48-year-old man already accused of raping two Alle-Kiski Valley girls faces new charges after another alleged victim has said she was assaulted as a child and as an adult.
Eric A. Wright, who had been living in Allegheny Township, is accused of exposing himself to the third girl, watching her at inappropriate times and fondling her.
The alleged assaults started when the girl was 12 or 13 years old, she told police. Now a woman, she told police Wright then exposed himself a couple years later.
She also accused Wright of reaching through an open window of her vehicle about five years ago and fondling her while exposing himself, according to an additional criminal complaint filed against Wright.
Wright was arraigned on the new charges Wednesday. He faces a felony charge of corruption of minors and misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and indecent assault.
District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec set a bond of $50,000.
The new case surfaced while police were investigation allegations that Wright raped and assaulted two girls over the course of 20 years in Allegheny Township and Vandergrift, Allegheny Township police Sgt. Dan Uncapher said. He also faces charges of exposing himself to a 50-year-old woman, too.
Wright was arraigned last Friday by District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec on those charges. She ordered him held on $1 million combined bond. He was sent to the Westmoreland County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
If he can post about $100,000 cash with a bail bondsman, he must wear an electronic tracking device, Yakopec ordered.
Wright is represented by attorney R. Blaine Jones II.
“We as a people can’t have a knee-jerk reaction,” Jones said of the new charges. “We have to respect the law and wait for whatever evidence there is to come out.”
