Arnold Council, New Kensington-Arnold School Board schedule virtual meetings
The New Kensington-Arnold School Board and Arnold Council have each scheduled their first virtual meetings — for the same night.
Government bodies have begun holding virtual meetings in response to the covid-19 pandemic.
Both meetings will be held Tuesday using Zoom, a computer-based service that connects users by video and audio. Other options are also available.
The Arnold Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The meeting audio can be accessed through Zoom by calling 312-626-6799 or 646-558-8656 and using meeting identification number 993-122-476. A list of all available Zoom dial-in phone numbers is available online.
Arnold Solicitor David Regoli will host the meeting. Residents on the meeting by audio or video will be able to comment during the public comment portion of the meeting; Regoli will call on them as the host.
Regoli said he is also working on streaming the meeting on YouTube. The meeting will be recorded, he said.
Residents can email comments or questions by noon Tuesday to city Administrator Mario Bellavia at mario.bellavia@cityofarnoldpa.org.
The New Kensington-Arnold School Board has scheduled a committee meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday, with a general voting meeting following.
The district announced that instructions on participating in the meeting through Zoom will be posted to the district’s website. Instructions were not yet available Thursday.
The meeting will also be open to the public by telephone.
The regular monthly meeting scheduled for April 28 will be canceled, Superintendent John Pallone said.
